BW student vocalists and orchestra members performed the opera "Dialogues of the Carmelites" during the spring semester. Francis Poulenc's fictionalized portrayal of the Martyrs of Compiegne tells the timely and tragic story of Carmelite nuns who were guillotined in Paris for refusing to renounce their vocation during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror.
Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its fall 2017 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.
A total of 12,594 students enrolled during the 2017 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Forty-four members of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Class of 2020 at Georgia State University received their white coats at the annual White Coat Ceremony and Service of Remembrance on October 26. Close to 300 University of Alabama students are receiving a hands-on educational experience at more than 60 companies and organizations through UA's Cooperative Education Program during summer 2017. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student. The experience enhances the students' employment prospects after graduation. While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable on-the-job experience. Students maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.
Five diverse cities, 35 compassionate Baldwin Wallace University students and one short spring break week added up to a world of difference. The BW Alternative Break service program gives students the opportunity to spend their breaks helping others. The spring 2017 student volunteers traveled to Clarkston, Ga., New Orleans, New York, Washington and Wheeling, W.Va. Each experience was led by a BW student with support from a University faculty or staff adviser.

Forty-nine students achieved membership in Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) National Honor Society for First-Year Students in the spring 2017 semester. ALD is an honor society for full-time students who achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher and were in the top 20 percent of their class during their first year of higher education.
Seventy-two students in Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications have been inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication honor society.
A flight team from the Parkland College Institute of Aviation at the University of Illinois finished strong during recent regional competitions, qualifying for a national berth. Parkland scored third place overall at the National Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference's (SAFECON) Region 8 competition, held October 7-10 at Lewis University in Lockport, Illinois.
